We are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans and are committed to showing our appreciation in a meaningful way.
As a thanks to our veterans, in 2024, we announced Vertical for Veterans, a special initiative that provides one free roof replacement for a deserving veteran nominated by their peers, neighbors, and family. This is our way of expressing gratitude and giving back to those who have given so much. Thank you for joining us in supporting our veterans. Together, we can make a difference, one roof at a time.
Meet Alan Payne
Alan Payne joined the U.S. Marine Corps shortly after high school, driven by a strong sense of purpose. After his service, he worked in retail while figuring out his next steps, always striving to move forward.
Alan is open about the loss of his daughter, an experience that continues to inspire him to live with intention and serve others. He’s committed to values like accountability, communication, and personal growth, qualities that deeply align with ours at Vertical Solutions.
We were honored to support Alan with a free roof replacement through our Vertical for Veterans program. His strength and spirit remind us why this initiative matters.

To nominate a veteran for a free roof replacement, please read our guidelines and fill out the nomination form below and describe why you nominated them. Tell us why this veteran deserves this gift, and how a new roof would make a difference in their life. Together, we hope make a meaningful impact and show our veterans the appreciation they truly deserve. Please keep in mind that our sincere goal is to provide relief to a veteran.
Submission Guidelines
As our goal is to find a veteran who would be greatly impacted by this roof, we have created some guidelines for nomination to help us find the right fit.
- Must have an active leak in their house that is causing an uncomfortable or unlivable situation
- Not able to afford a new roof/could not get insurance to pay for approval.
- Property must be within 75 mile radius of a Vertical Solutions office. See locations below.
- Roof will be replaced with 30-yr shingle
- Includes tear off and installation
- Does not include moving AC unit(s) or any additional structural framing construction
- Manufacturer’s warranty
- Must not be related directly or by law to any vertical employees.
- 35 squares max
- Locations: Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Oklahoma City, OK, Kansas City, MO
